今日はブライアンがニコとハイキングに連れてってくれます。アメリカは男→女なので楽です。朝からブラウニー焼いて、おにぎり＆唐揚げで森の中でランチです。日本で逆チョコとかいうものがあると聞きました。それって人気なの？

Irresistible Ketchup Packets

At my work's cafeteria, they have these ketchup packets... each one is different and I couldn't resist grabbing a few... I wanted more kinds but felt guilty, so only 4! I think different kids drew these and Heintz put them on the packets. Pretty cool. I love ketchup.

Recent Favorites

Recently, my friend left whole foods shampoo at our house and I started using it. Mine is lavender shampoo and I really liked it, and I just bought Mint conditioner today. I was surprised how cheap it was! It only costed me $2.29 for a bottle. They don't have artificial colors or preservatives, and smells good and clean your hair! I have tried several kinds of shampoos since I came to the U.S. but they are def. one of my favorites. I was using Japanese shampoos which costed me fortune but these, are cheap and great!

Also, this body oil thing is my item this winter. As you know New York dries your skin up! and I was using all different kind of moisturizers but this one works the best. You just use it after shower when your skin is dump. It doesn't get oily or sticky but moisture your skin perfectly all day!! I love it... I usually have bad dry arms and legs but this year I am doing great. Trader Joes sells cheap ver. in Lavender, this is also great!!

おせんべい in wall street

昨日、仕事の帰りにおなかすいたと思って、鞄の中におせんべいを見つけたので、駅まで歩く途中におせんべい食べながら歩いたんだけど。

普段歩きながらおせんべい食べないけどさ。（笑）すっごい不思議な気分になった。大体せんべい食べてるのなんて私だけで、ウォールストリートの景色見ながら、ワールドトレードセンター跡地とか横切って、おせんべい食べながら歩いてたら本当に外国にいるような気分になって。せんべい食べながら「あぁ、9.11はここで起ったんだなぁ」なんて未体験。

とても変な体験でした。。アメリカにいる人やってみて〜。なんかipodで違う曲かけると、景色も違う雰囲気に見える、みたいなそんな感じだよ。

レイオフ レイオフ レイオフ

今週は、先週末のスキー疲れを引きずり、疲れてました。。そして世の中本当いいニュースががなくて、周りの友達がどんどんレイオフ（解雇）されてきます。まじで。こんなに周りで解雇があるのは生まれて初めて。業界も色々ですが、やっぱりNYの命である金融業界が打たれたのは非常に打撃で。大手デパートで働いている友達も、金融の友達も、アート業界の友達も、大手ジュエリー会社の友達もみんな解雇。まじ、暗い感じです。ニュースでは大手の企業の大規模な解雇しか取り上げられませんが、あらゆる企業がじわじわ人切ってます。

解雇は色々なタイプがありますが、一番ターゲットになるのは、ジュニアポジションの私たちの世代か、高給取りのシニアの人たちが一番弱い立場にある気がします。意外にも、年長で、高給取りで、今まで稼いで来た人は、結構あっさり首を切られます。家族とかいても、容赦ないです。恐怖。ドッグパークの友人も、シニアポジションですが、「首きられそうな雰囲気」といって貯金してます。もはやNYで解雇された人60万人程ですから、これからまだ首が切られると思うと、ぞっとします。

今日は真冬の天気が続く中、気持ち悪いくらい春な陽気で。人がたくさん繰り出してましたがどれだけの人がお金を落として行った事でしょう。はぁ、明るい話ないかなぁ。

Ritz Carlton Bed Set

Last year in Oct, when I went to Boston on business trip, we luckily stayed at Ritz Carlton. I LOVED their comforters, sheets, big pillows.... I mean it was a nice hotel but their bedding was the best!! They had this post card near the pillow that says where I can get the bed set... I still keep the card in my schedule book, my dream is to get the exact bed set,,,,! this year. I don't know if I can do all white, but I will see... by the end of this year, I would like to have a bed as comfy as that one. I love blankets and I have... too many blankets right now. I like to feel heavy when I sleep.

上の記事を昨日ウェブで見つけた。鬱病にもならず、自殺もせず、社会生活を送る為に必要ならいいんじゃないか、っていうトーンにすごく腹が立ちました。根本的な解決になってないじゃん、＆メディアはこんなどうでもいいニュースに踊らされ、ロイター英語版とかにも「日本人男性の間でブラジャーが流行ってる」ようなニュース、「恥」という感覚はないのか。ブラジャーつけないと生きてられないような精神状態が狂ってるわ。日本人としてこんなもんが流行るのは本当恥ずかしいと思う。男性がブラジャーをつけることに文句を言ってる訳じゃなくて、その裏にある「意味」も考えないでトレンドトレンド、とか言ってるのがばかばかしいってわけだ。あーありえん。

Maruchan Yakisoba

At the grocery store in upstate New York... I found... Yakisoba cup noodle!! I didn't know US has Yakisoba one. maybe it's new. I hope they start selling "raw noodle" cup ramen not the dried one. Raw noodle one tastes so much better.

焼きそばカップ麺、アメリカで初めてみた。まるちゃん。ていうか、てりやきフレーバー！でたー。なんでもてりやきにするからなぁ。。。生麺タイプのカップラーメンを発売してほしいです。（希望）

Surprise Ski Trip

Last weekend, I went skiing to Bellayer Mountain. It's about 3hours away from New York by driving. It was for one of our friends birthday trip, and since our group of friends have been addicted to surprise party, this was one of it! so, it was a secret trip and we kidnapped our friend and went skiing from Friday. We rented this 5 bedrooms house and brought in bunch of groceries so we can cook for meals. It worked out pretty well!

We were lucky to have nice weather up there, plenty of snow this year parts of the snow was a little bit icy and scary compare to Oregon snow! 

友達の誕生日で、サプライズスキ−トリップ。マンハッタンから東北の方向にい３時間くらい車でいったところのスキー場で、５個ベッドルームのある家を借りて遊んできました。久しぶりのスキー（といっても１年ぶりか。去年はオレゴンで滑った）で体はくたくた！金曜日に行って、土曜日に滑って、夜は誕生日パーティー！のつもりでみんなたくさんゲームやビールを持ってたのに、夜の９時にはカウチで寝始めていました。（笑）日曜日に帰って来た後は、Super Bowlだったので、家でSuper Bowlをみて、月曜日は途方もないくらい疲れました。

誕生日の夜は、クリームシチュー。冬にクリームシチューはいいね。彼の両親が、お酒を飲まない人たちなんだけど、いつも贈り物でドンペリをもらうので、家にすごいたくさんドンペリがある（！）このあいだそれを１本くれたので、1998年のドンペリを開けました。贅沢〜。

Our birthday dinner was cream stew with home made birthday cake and a bottle of Dom Perignon! Brian's parents don't drink and they always receive champagne as gifts, so we got one of those from them. Luxurious dinner~! 

We had so much fun at the house & Skiing. Above is friends beating a friend with pillows.
