Wall Sticker, 壁に植物

I cannot show you the entire bed room yet since we still have boxes but we did finish the wall! Originally I wanted a little darker gray but I think it turned out good. It's a little blu-ish gray but looks good right?I was originally thinking to paint some patterns but after some research, I figured that I don't have that kind of skill! So, instead of that we put this plant sticker on the wall. I love it!! It is easy and not that expensive.

ベッドルームの壁。まだ部屋汚いので、壁だけ。最初はもう少し暗めのグレーを狙ってたんだけど、ブルーグレーになっちゃった。。笑　でもまあ、さわやかでいいでしょ。で、模様を自分で書こうと思ってたんだけど、リサーチしてて、そんな器用さが私にあるわけがないということを（最初から分かってたのにね）悟り、ステッカーがあるということをしってステッカーを買いました。素敵でしょ？

Valentine's day was really clear and nice day! It's our neighbourhood photos.

近所。昨日は快晴でした。また今日雪ふる予報だけど。。

From Valentine's day dinner. We went to the French bistro near us where we usually go for brunch. We have never had their dinner so we picked that place. I had lobster mango salad and duck breast with pomegranate sauce...yummmm!!! I wish I get to eat this yummy food everyday.

バレンタインデーのデザート。日本の方が絶対おいしい。メインの鴨と前菜のロブスターマンゴーサラダはばっちりでした。

Happy Valentine's Day!

毎年、バレンタインには花をくれる優しい彼なのですが、いつもそこらへんのお店で買って来たつまらない花をくれるので、「もっと気の利いた花が欲しい」とリクエストしていたら、チャンと買って来てくれました。友達が、フラワーアレンジメントをやっていて、バレンタイン近くになるとお店を出して売るのですが、そこで買って来てくれたようです。かわいいでしょ？これを持ちながら、新しいマットレスを探しに街やデパートをうろうろしていたのですが、１０人以上女の人に「なんてきれいなの！！どこで買ったの？」と声をかけられました。やっぱり女の人はこだわりに気がつくよね。というわけで、自慢げに花をもって街をうろうろしていたら、花がしおれてきたので、やばい！と思って、あわてて家に帰って来て花瓶に入れたのでした。ありがとうブライアン！

Every year my kind boyfriend picks up flower for Valentine's day, but this year I have been telling him that flower from delis on the streets are boring. He has a friend who does awesome flower arrangement, and she sells her beautiful bouquets on Valentine's day. He went there and picked a bunch for me. It is the most beautiful flower I have got! I was so proud of my boyfriend and I was showing off my flower walking around in the city (actually we were looking for a new mattress at sleepy's and Macy's! ) more than 10 women came up and told me how beautiful my flower was! I was so proud. Then I was holding the flower little too long outside, so I rushed home and put them in the vase. Thanks Brian and I hope everyone had a nice valentine's day.

2010年最初のゲスト。First guest this year!

今年のNY初ゲストは高校の友達。出張でNYにきました。ぶらぶら買い物いったり、近況アップデートしたり、バレンタインデーの朝ご飯を一緒に楽しみました。彼女は山梨は小淵沢で、キースへリングのミュージアムを仕切ってます。機会のある人は是非行って下さい。私も早く行ってみたい。博物館には温泉もあるらしい！

My friend from High School was the first visitor of 2010! She was here on the business trip. She is a curator at Keith Herring Museum in Yamanashi Japan, if you have a chance to go there, please visit...

We walked Nico in morning along the river, you can see still a lot of snow left! I heard it's going to snow again later this week.

産婦人科検診

産婦人科検診行ってきました。アメリカでは強く毎年の検診を勧められるので、毎年行くのですが。女の先生だと予約がとるのが時間がかかり、男の先生だと結構すぐとれます。両方の先生にあったったことがありますが、男の先生はやっぱりこう話上手というか、ソフトなタイプの人が多いです。又はゲイか。（ゲイだとなんとなく安心する）

今回は初めての先生で、インドのおじさん。喋りやすい人で、「爪の色が悪いんじゃない？」とかまで見てくれて（？）ぱっぱと一通り検査が終了しました。それにしても、日本で婦人科検診行った事ないけど、色々なことを聞かれます。

＊過去３ヶ月でのパートナーは何人？

＊どの性別に興味があるか？　男、女、両方

＊HIV検査はするか？

＊暴力をふるわれたりしているか？（DVのチェック）

＊週に何回お酒を飲むか

＊たばこはすうか

＊検診の際に宗教上注意しなくてはいけないことがあるか

などなど、検診の前に色々な質問表に答えるんだけど、先生には色々正直に答えなくてはいけないので、恥ずかしいですねえ。まあ、先生は仕事なのでソツなく淡々とこなしていくんだけど。みなさんも検診行って下さい。最近よく周りで子宮にポリープできたとかそういう話を聞きます。

雪嵐の日。Snow Storm Day

東海岸には今週２つのスノーストームが来ました。ワシントンD.Cでは、政府機関もストップしてしまうほどの大雪で、NYも今日は丸一日大雪。ずーっと降り続けています。普段は雪で休校なんかならないのですが、NY市が安全をとって、公立高校は休校、私も仕事は家からでした。UNとかもお休みだったし、多くの会社が休みだったと思います。でも予想していた程の雪はまだ降っておらず、写真は今朝のですがそんなにひどくない。１日吹雪いていたので、夜の今はもうちょっとすごいことになってるかな。

もちろん犬達は大喜びではしゃぎまくり。となりの公園で走りまくりました。ちなみに写真に見える茶色いビルがうち。家で仕事って集中できない。。リラックスしすぎです。（笑）NYカーは絶対働いてないな、、。

The snow storm hit New York today, we were expecting it so many offices are close including U.N. and my office! it is like a miracle... I didn't think our CEO would actually allow us to work from home on the snow day! New York public schools are closed and everyone took precation for this weather but it didn't turn out that bad yet... In morning it wasn't that bad as you can see in the photos, I was able to go out and hang out with dogs as usual. Dogs of course love the weather and I loved it too! It is so much fun to hang out with big dogs in this kind of weather.

Nico hang out with her best friend Maddie, those two were extremely excited. I hope tomorrow the streets won't be too slippery!

古いですが、エレガントなビルです。

今度のアパートは古くてエレガントなビルです。ロビーは図書館のようでしょ？こんなエレガントな場所にあまり似合わなくニコが歩いています。犬にフレンドリーなビルです。

まだこういう古いメールボックスも使ってて、上の階から郵便を落とせる仕組み。でもつっかかるかもしれないから使わないでと言われています。

朝日が毎日見える。Sunrise to wake up with.

朝日が見えるんです、毎朝。この角度だと見えきらなくて、窓から身を乗り出すと全部みえるんだけどね。笑　運気あがりそうでしょ？ようやくインターネットが復活したくさく、、ブログ更新です。いえーい。家もかなりアンパックして、昨日もスーパーボウルを友達とみましたよ。

Our internet is back! We can see sunrise from our apt! Although you have to put your body outside of the window to see the entire sun ;) But it makes me feel very energetic to wake up with the sunrise!

リビングは、引き続き抹茶色にしました。前回も気に入ってて飽きなかったので。リラックスするし。１面だけ緑に。

We decided to keep the color of Matcha green in the living room. We never get tired of the color from the last apartment! As soon as we painted the color, it is odd but we felt like we are at home :)

友達に助けにきてもらったペイントぬり。（ありがと）グレーを狙ってたんだけど、かなりブルーグレー。これはこれでいいんだけど、当初の狙いはもっとチャーコルグレーだったので、微妙な心境。でもきれいなんです、、。たぶん当分これで、１年ぐらいしたら塗り替え？でもさわやかで、いいです。

My friends came help painting the wall! originally I was going for the darker gray but it turned out more towards blue gray. I still like the color but maybe I will repaint it after a while!? not sure. It may look different after we put everything up.

さらば親しみのある部屋。Bye Bye our beloved studio.

とうとう、、引っ越ししまして、（って前回どこまで書いたかすでに忘れた）この１週間もう体力勝負で、爪はぼろぼろ、背中は痛いし、アザが気づいたらいたるところ、髪にはペンキ、、すさまじい状況です。色々な友達のおかげで、引っ越しは思っていたよりも短時間で終わり、（４時間ぐらい？）現在は新居をいろいろ片付け中。とりあえず今回は前の家の様子を、、どうぞ。

Finally we are settling at the new place! We have been cleaning so much this past week and my back hurts, my nails are destroyed (well I don't have pretty colored nail to begin with.. but) my hair got wall paint,,, We have been working on it a lot. We have just cleared old place, very sentimental. We have had many friends over, a lots of fun, lots of memory at this place. It was at the first floor, high ceiling, and a loft space. I still remember the day we picked this spot! It was rainy day and we didn't think we would find an apt on that day.

さすがに４年近くすんだ家なので、思い出いっぱい。片付ける時はなんとなくセンチになりました。1階の部屋でぼろいけど、広め、いいスペースで友達もたくさん来てくれて、いろんなことしました。飲んだり、料理したり、ゲームしたり誕生日会やったり、ニコを飼ったのもこの家！

親しみのある家だったが、水漏れしたり、朝お湯はでなかったり、引っ越して来た後に隣にうるさい人気のバーができたり、上のパーティーオーガナイザーがすげーうるさかったり、一回はブライアンがきれて、天井を蹴ったら天井に穴があいた！（ロフトなので、天井が近い。）あんまりメンテも良くなかったのでいい加減いらいらしていたところでした。卒業のタイミングだったのです。さて、この家を離れ、新しい家は、また写真アップします。

Although we were very attached to this place, I am very happy to move to this place right now! Our neighbour was getting loud all the time, water was sometime leaking, we didn't get hot water all the time... I think we were getting tired of the situation. It was the time to move on. More pictures coming later.
