Merry X'mas and Happy New Year!

Merry X'mas everyone! This is this year's X'mas card that we made this year, us riding on Nico to X'mas land (!?) Thank you always for reading my blog, it is good to keep in touch with all of you readers! I hope everyone will have a great holiday. I will be away for a week to Turks and Caicos island, I will bring back tons of photos, so come back and visit the site in first week of Jan! I am excited to leave NYC for a while, for a fresh air and beautiful ocean... I will def. miss Nico tohugh! (I don't usually talk about him here but I am proud of him today!) My boyfriend is good at cooking! Especially fluffy eggs~~~!! He has been cooking a lot and also expert of cleaning!!! I love it!!  (I am the messier one)

Underwater Camera

というわけで、25日から海行くんです。Turks&Caicos.　ウォータープルーフカメラが絶対必要だ！ということで色々計算した結果、安いウォーター・プルーフ・デジカメを買った方が安いという計算に。Going to beach without underwater camera is very boring! we decided to get one cheap underwater digital camera. It was only $100. I think it's a good deal....

I test drive this morning,　安いから撮れるかなーとね。It is contrasty but has own taste to it... I kind of like it. Above is near Union Sq. on the way to work.

Doesn't it look like Europe?　会社の近くのビル。海の中できれいにとれるかな〜。I am going to take many many photos in the water now!!! very exciting.... I can use it during summer at camping etc.

Holiday Party!

毎年恒例、友達の家のホリデーパーティーへ行ってきました。今週末は、金曜日は誕生日パーティー、土曜日はこのホリデーパーティー、日曜日は冬休みの間、犬を見てくれる友達のためにディナー、と忙しかったのら。

この友達は、本当にデコレーションとかが上手な友達で、ダンナさまが料理、彼女が飾り付けという分担でおうちも素敵〜。同い年なんだけど、同い年の家とは思えません。ていうか友達の中で一番「落ち着いている」家であり、「雑誌に出てそう」なおうちでちょーかわいいです。ご飯も、きれいでしょう。

テレビにはデジタル暖炉まであり！

そして友達のお兄ちゃんお手製のエッグノッグ酒。日本でいったら甘酒かな。なんかカスタードクリームがお酒になったら、みたいな味がするんですけど、これがすごい酔っぱらい危険。ビールはケグまであって、大盛り上がりで気がついたら朝の３時でした。

Holiday Street Performers

There are many street performers in New York City, and at first you get fascinated to theme every each one of them. Then you get used to it, and start paying less attention. These guys, were definitely outstanding and amazing among all street performers! real piano, drum, tap dance...! I should have video it. It was at Union Sq. They were rocking! Big gallery too!

New York has Snow too now!

Finally! Snow is staying. I heard Oregon had snow, Wisconsin had snow,,, we did have snow from Friday, it started snowing furiously, ( Above photo is from Friday, from office window)and it was almost like a blizzard when I went outside during lunch time!

Park got so white also, dogs are super happy! running around like revived dogs..

very beautiful with snow at park, I love it!! I don't mind snow cold... It supposed to snow more this weekend.

日本人男性の格好悪い瞬間

ちなみに、前のエントリーのアパートは両方次の日に借りる人が決まったそうです。NYのアパート探しは戦争。クレジットチェックも厳しいし、用意する書類も大量だし、なのにいいところは１日もしたらすぐなくなります。。。

Anyway

今日はですね、最近わたしのむかっとしていること。うちのオフィスには日本企業がたくさん入っていて、日本人多いんですけど。ウォールストリートは教養ある人が多いので、男性は必ず、大げさなくらいLady Firstしてくれます。エレベーターでも、ドアでも、いつでも女性優先。そんな中、エレベーターでアメリカ人男性が女性を優先しようと待っているところに、のこのこと誰よりも先に出入りしようとする日本人男性は、本当幻滅します。

まあ、そんな習慣で育たなかった、というのはあるけどそんなの言い訳だ！！格好悪すぎる。

Did New York City Apt Price go Down?

I wanted to research if the apt prices are going down in my area, East Village. Also possible moving from our apt right now. We lived here for almost 3 years and we don't have that big problem besides our loud neighbour. Apt price is def. going down right now a bit, such as free 1 month, no fees etc. Broker said though it's just until the end of the year and real estate market will adjust really quick again by next year. ( I am not sure if that's true,,,I mean, they have to rent out apts. asap) Anyway, I looked at 3 apt yesterday and seems like price is going down but again, I was surprised how small and expensive NYC apt's are. Above unit is a bit smaller than our current place, nicer building etc. and it's around $2400. Small kitchen!!! I hate that.

Above apt. was pretty nice. 1.5 bath room, real 1 bed room with a lot of storage space, and fire place, fire escape, laundry room every floor, but it's all carpet. and it was $2600 without Fee. I guess not bad for what it is. Very nice building too.

マーケットが悪いので、アパートの値段下がってるかなーと思って、３月でアパートの契約も切れるので下見に行きました。４件くらいしか見なかったけど、まー、ちょっと値段は下がってた。普通はNYのアパートは、ブローカー（仲介人）を通して探すと、１ヶ月の家賃をデポジットする他にも、年間の家賃の30倍くらいの年収がないといけないとか（そんな若者はなかなかいないので、みんな保証人をつける）家賃１年分の15%を手数料として払うとか、引っ越しはすごく高いのです。

最初の写真のアパートは、今のうちより少しせまいけど、いいビルで（ドアマン付き）ランドリーとかも各フロアにあり（ないところもある）月$2400くらい。キッチンもせまいし、収納もないし。。それが結構普通なんだけどね。最後にみたところはなかなか良くて、ビルもよい、ドアマンつき、ランドリーもあり、本当の1ベッドルーム。無理矢理１ベッドルームを２ベッドルームにしてるところとかもよくありますので、ここは本当広い。収納もあって、本物の暖炉も！良くないのはカーペット、というところ。これがフロアだったらもっと高いだろうなぁ。このアパートで$2600くらい、手数料なし。

やっぱり値段は微妙におちてるけど、今の家より多少多く払ったところで、格段によくなるという訳ではないし、やっぱり引っ越しにはお金がかかるのでもう１年ここに住むことになりそうです〜。早くほんとのベッドルームがある家に住みたい！！！
