My cousin's daughter, みぃちゃん

いとこの娘に初めて会いました。誕生日があったので、５歳になったばかり。ちょー、シャイです。おみやげのTシャツが似あってます。（自己満足）

さすが田舎育ち、木登りが好きみたいで、あんまり上れないんだけどがんばってるみぃちゃん。かわいいです。

隣の小学校の校庭に、おばあちゃんちの裏庭から侵入できるんですが。調子にのってさかあがりだぁ！！とかいって鉄棒に勢い良くしがみついたら、、、できなくなってターーーー！！！かなりショック。ちょっと落ち込んだ。前回りはできたよ。（誰でもできるか）もうなんか、年なのかなあって、悲しくなった。

Chiro the dog, or lamb? 羊だぞ。ちろ犬

Okay. Isn't she ADORABLE??!?!?!? one of the things that I was looking forward was to see her at grandma's house. She's got old but still the same adorable Chiro. She is a mutt but very nice obedient dog. Although she was very stubborn when we walked her (the second photo) She insisted not to go to certain direction. About 8 years old and I think she looks like a lamb.

Grandma's house; おばあちゃんち

I visited my grandma's house in Iwate, it has been almost 5 years but nothing has changed! I like how they keep it old and Japanese. Everytime I visit there I remember the summer vacation I spent growing up. All the family get together and I hang out with my cousins. Since my mom had 7 siblings, it was such a big party every summer. It was unexpectedly not in Iwate this summer and we had hard time sleeping from the heat!

おばあちゃんちは岩手ですが。昔から変わらない家で久しぶりだったけど変わってなかった。毎年子供の頃はおばあちゃんちに遊びにきて、どじょうをすくうのが好きだったのです。最近は水が少なくて、できない。

ANA Flight

Came back from summer vacation! Only a week to spend in Japan but had a great time. Took ANA this time also, their service is the best and you can tell from the meeting they are having at the airport before the flight...! so serious and all young females. Very Japanese.

Summer Break: 夏休み中です。

先週の金曜日から夏休みでーす。再び、４日間をおいただけでまた日本。今回は休暇です。出張と休暇をくっつけちゃいけないなんて、、、、気持ちは分かるけど片道１３時間の飛行機をシャトルと勘違いしないでもらいたい。とにかく。今回は岩手のおばあちゃんちと、千葉の海に滞在です。のんびりする予定ですが。のんびりっていう性格でもないので忙しいかな？帰ってきたらたくさん写真をアップロードします。楽しみにしててね。ちなみに上は岩手の田園風景でございます。みなさんもよい夏を！

I am taking a summer vacation, just for about 10 days. Came back to Japan (AGAIN!) to visit grandma in Iwate (Northern part) and spend time at the beach house in Chiba with my parents. Brian is with me too. It's his second time in Japan and he proceeds to Kobe, China, Mongol, and Thailand! So far we dipped in many hot springs and getting relaxed... I will update more photos once I come home. Stay tuned!

My favorite book shelf

Our new family member! book shelf-san desu. I don't know if I have mentioned it here but I was in search for a perfect book shelf for....almost a few months! We still had a few boxes full of books and documents from moving since we had built-in shelves at the previous apt and now we don't. So. I was looking for something that's unique and not IKEA and Westelm but still cheap. As much as I love those brand, I just wanted something unique and homy. It has glasses on the side and I like the fun shape of it! now I have to organize and try to fit all the books in here... Oh. I am packing too, leaving for Japan again but this time for vacation. Wait for pictures~!

本棚を探し続け、早数ヶ月。かわいい本棚が欲しくて、安い家具屋に有る訳なく。結局オンラインオークションで買いました。かわいいでしょ！！横にはガラスがついてるんだよ。なんか蝶番がついてるから、ドアがついてたのかなあ？お店のディスプレイとかだったのかも？分からんけど、このrusticな感じが気に入ってようやく購入。引っ越してから片付いてなかった本の山達を、、、ここにおさめます！全部入るかなぁ？明日から再びジャパンです。もう何が時差って感じです。今回は休暇ですが、岩手と千葉で過ごします。写真楽しみにしててね。

Impressive!!! iphone 4に感動

With Nico @ AT&T Store.... excited from getting iphone4, my phone case which I bought in Japan happened to match with Nico's collar! (...so?)

iphone4で記念写真＠電話ショップ。日本で既に購入していたiphoneカバーがニコの首輪と電撃おそろいで興奮。（気がつけば最近ピンクの写真ばっかだなぁ、、。）

I used to have iphone 3G, and compare to that...!! It is very very fast and looks clear, so much better! most of all, I tried iphone video chat with my friend and it is amazing!!!! you can video- chat from your phone and it is totally a NEW experience. Can I do this oversea as well? then I have to get my mom one of these. Anyway let me know if you got iphone 4, I will chat you!  Also.... I have lost most of the contacts, please let me know your number. thanks!

iphone4がとうとう届き、ようやく電話なし生活２週間より脱出。（そこまで不便じゃなかったけど、やっぱり電話が有る方が便利）これがっ。速くて、きれいだし、何よりも早速試したiphone video chatが最高！！奇跡なんじゃないかと。まじで、これおじいちゃん見たら腰抜けると思うんだけど。毎回アップグレードの度に「良くなった！」と感動させてくれるアップル、すごいです。電話なくして良かった、ぐらいに思ってるよ、（単純）最高。iphone4でチャットできる人募集中です。写真もとれるの速くてますます写真とる回数が増えそう、、

Japanese Summer Festival、通り過ぎた夏祭り

Last day in Japan, I happened to pass by one of the summer festivals. It was very traditional, lots of food vendors, people in Yukata dancing festival dance. It was really nostalgic for me since I haven't been to one for a long time! Too bad I didn't have much time to enjoy, I just snapped a few photos.

I thought it was interesting that grandma's yukata said something in English. Modern Yukata!?

Kids wearing cute Yukata and drinking Ramune. A marble is inside the soda and you can break the glass and take it out later. Very sweaty evening but perfect night for the festival.
