Very hot summer weekend. We went to bar and watched Netherlands vs. Spain at some Korean bar. We cheered for Netherlands but lost~...! I like there are people from everywhere in NYC and we keep watching every game.

週末は暑く。日差しも強く。サッカー決勝見ました。＠韓国のバー。（すいてるからね）NYは色々な人種の人がいるので、どの試合も盛り上がるのが、素敵です。

Oyster Night

Thursday night, bunch of girls went to oyster dinner! This restaurant has half off (50cents/piece!) Oysters and we had 40 oysters among 6 girls. Very summery and good. Catching up with everyone with good food is the best thing to do on week day evening.

木曜日は女友達とカキ食べに行った。このレストランは木曜日はセールだから。１個50¢で食べられる。安いでしょ？

Saturday morning I found out that we are running out of fruits, and I went to farmers market with Nico, grabbed some peaches and a bunch of flower. I like farmers market in summer, it is very colorful.

土曜日は、フルーツを買いに近所のファーマーズマーケットへ。まぁ、おいしいけど高いんだよ結構。マンハッタンだからって値段が高い訳だよ。オーガニックとかなると余計高い訳だよ。桃を買ったよ。

I always love having flowers in the house but you know. They could be expensive and during week days, I am not home most of the day. This weekend I will be around the apt so I thought it'd be nice to have some! I thought the pink would go good with our new wall color, they are fresh aren't they?

花のある生活、いいですよね。心が潤います。普段はあんまり買えないけど、今週末はちょっと贅沢。でもこれで＄５だから安いかな？

The Piano at the park

Okay~. I came back from Japan thinking NYC would be cooler, but I was WRONG! SO HOT.... and I don't think NYC summer is very dry either. A little muggy, isn't it? Yesterday was 99F! (37C?) I thought my blood will be boiled. We took out Nico in morning before it gets too hot... Around St. Marks. 

There is this piano these days at this park and everyone can play. I think it is such a wonderful idea. It sounds so pretty!

Everyone is welcome to play I think and I like that people just play it, don't worry about how good they are. This man was practicing on the piano but still sounded nice. I think it's very New York, something that I love. Very spontaneous ideas. 

NY真剣に暑く、血が沸騰する。今日も38℃ぐらいまで上がるらしく、オフィスからは出たくないですね。ところで、最近この公園にピアノが置いてあるの。かなりナイスアイディア。誰でも弾けるようになってるんだけど、外で音楽はいいね。まったり〜。しかもみんな下手でも気にせず弾くところが、良いです。この人は普通に練習してたよ。

たまにはNYらしい写真をとろうかと？最近のタクシーはハイブリッドの車が多いです。この近所は前にも書いたけど、Smashing Pampkinのジェームズがいつもフレンチブルドッグとうろうろしてて、なんかフレンチブルドッグ抱えて歩いてる人がいると思ったら、彼だった。良く出くわす。

Nico is doing ok in the heat, She loved listening to the piano too! Most of the day She hangs out in the ACed room. Spoiled doggie. 

ニコも元気にしちょります。暑いって。毎日冷房の中でごろごろ。

Still having jet lag and I wake up at 5:30am. It was very nice morning sky today.

Basil Blooms

Basil bloomed while I was away. I didn't know basil has flowers...  It smells like basil! ( of course...)

Mint was growing a lot also and I made a batch of mint iced tea. Herbs grow faster than expected.... must eat them faster.

出張でいない間にバジルが花咲かせてた、花が咲くって知らなかった。すごい勢いで縦に育っている、食べるのが追いつかないよ。ミントもぼうぼうで、昨日アイスミントティーを作りおきしました。

We were talking about repainting our living room color to turquoise and Brian repainted it while I was away! It looks very summery and fresh, I love it. We are waiting for the new couch to arrive.

リビングの色を抹茶からターコイズに塗り替えました。ブライアンがやってくれて、完璧。夏らしい色で気に入っています。どうですか？

上野、素敵だわ。Ueno

出張中は、色々なところでビジネスご飯です。今回は又偉い人とご飯行ったら、上野に連れてってくれた。上野なんて、、上野動物園とか以来、１０年は絶対行ってない。トントンとか行ったことあるくらいじゃ。上野公園、結構エレガントで素敵でした。この鳥居の隣のレストランでご飯したんだけど、とてもジャパンで良かった、でも部屋がお茶室みたいな感じで結構狭くって、窓のないところだったので息苦しかったな。春は桜がすごいきれいらしい。春に行ってみたい！動物園にも又行きたいなー。

During my business trip I usually go out for dinner with colleagues, Japanese love having dinner after work, so I usually end up eating dinner every day with colleagues on my trip. I get to go to different places and this time my boss took us to this nice traditional Japanese spot at Ueno. Ueno is famous for beautiful cherry blossoms and zoo with a panda bear. I haven't been to this place probably more than 10 years but it was really nice park and felt like it was central park of Japan. I would love to come back in Spring time!

Ice Cream Ramen......

I found this ice cream ramen in the magazine... actually the author said it's not bad, it's like corn chowder kind of flavor when you mix the ice cream...awww... I want to try a bite. but it looks odd!!!! Does any of my friend want to challenge?

雑誌読んでて見つけた、アイスクリームラーメン、おげーって感じだけどコーンスープみたいな感じらしい。食べてみる人いない？感想聞かせて！！他にもここのラーメン屋さんには青いラーメンとか色々異色ラーメンがあるらしい。

Soccer at Shibuya was nuts

I am done with a week business trip and at the airport and chilling with my coffee!  On Tuesday there was a soccer game and I couldn't believe how crazy Japanese kids are about soccer...The game started from 11pm and the picture was taken around 10pm.  I heard about it but it was really insane. I used to pass by this Shibuya station every day when I was in high school but I have never encountered this kind of craziness. My hotel was looking down the most famous crossing at Shibuya and every time the light changes people gather in middle of it and start screaming... I was on 14th floor but it was loud that night! I wanted to go out and enjoy the atmosphere but I was too tired from jet lag! 

サッカーの試合あった日、渋谷すごかった。すごいとは聞いてたけど、、交差点見下ろしてたら（これは１０時ぐらいにとった写真かな）信号が変わるたびに人がどわーって真中に集まってきてブブゼラ鳴らしまくって、お祭り騒ぎ。こんなに日本人がみんなユニフォーム来たり、フェイスペインティングしたりしてんの初めて見た。ニュースではサッカーで盛り上がり世界へ躍進していく若いチームを全身全霊で応援している人たちと、一方では国技である相撲がドロドロと泥沼にはまり名古屋場所やるとかやらないとか。日本の文化的両面コントラストが良く出てて面白いと思った。
