SVA Art exhibit

Brian's photo assistant was part of SVA (School of Visual Arts) exibit, and we biked there and checked it out. Some photos, many paintings etc... outside there was a group that carried boxed to no destination, they looked very tired! and I thought it was very art students idea. To be honest, I expected new york art schools production will be high level production but it was like Japanese high school cultural festival. Makes me think what makes arts valuable. I don't like artsy people who are too confident in self and telling people they make arts, thats BS!

SVAという有名なアートスクールの学生展示会へちょこっとな。ニューヨークのアートっていうだけですごそうだけど、全然すごくなかった。日本の高校の文化祭とかわらないぜ。みんなギャラリーオープニングでは飲むの好きね。飲む為にあるようなもんよ。この1番最初の写真の人たちは、"We move things to nowhere"といって、無意味に箱を運んでるグループで、学生だからこんな無駄労力でアートできるな、と思ってしまった。疲れながらやってる彼らが面白かったけどね。きどってる勘違いの人も多いNYです、なんかちょっとほっとしました、日本にいるとNYのアートのレベルはすごい高いんじゃないかという勘違いがありますが、そんなことはありません。日本人でも十分競争できます。もちろんNYにも素敵なアーティストはたくさんいるけどね！でも今回思ったのは、アートスクールに行ったからって偉大なアーティストになれるわけではないということさ。
