We were camping this weekend. Headed to Rohde Isalnd Burlingame State Park, about 3 hours away from NYC. Left on Friday night while it was raining heavily all day.. and left city around 9pm. We were hoping that rain would stop by the time we get there but it didn't so we crushed at some motel , sneaked in our big dog and spent a night there. It was.. interesting.
Next day it stopped raining so after we left motel nearby, we went to the campground and pitched tents. This time we were 6 people and a dog, it was chiller than we thought in the park. I still had to wear sweater etc. Always but very nice to be away from city, not have to check e-mail when you wake up or worry about your cell phones.
The park was on the lake, so during day we canoed a little bit. Above is after-shot with Nico in the life saver jacket. She looks good in orange, doesn't she? hahaha. I love the sound of paddling water. Very soothing.
Our friend made a wonderful lunch, turkey sandwich and mashed yam with roasted pinapple. It was great.. something about eating outside, makes food even more delicious!
It was a little bit too cold to get in the water and we just kind of hang out on the lake.
